Big picture

Our overall aim is to develop tools for real-time musculoskeletal simulation to enable model-based design and testing of neuroprosthesis systems to restore function in the upper limb in spinal cord injury and other neuromuscular disorders. To facilitate adoption of these models, we want to integrate our real-time model with the OpenSim visualiser to provide real-time visual feedback on the state of the musculoskeletal system to clinicians and biomedical engineers. The figure below shows how our model integrates with OpenSim and how users interact with the system.

Workshop goals

Our specific aims for the workshop are:

  1. To link the OpenSim visualisation with our real-time model
  2. To extend the OpenSim visualisation to represent joint contact forces
