Getting Started with the OpenSim Source
This page is a centralized reference of starting points for an OpenSim developer working directly with the OpenSim source code.
- We grant read access to anyone who requests it. If you only wish to have read access to the source code, you can skip steps 3 & 4 under "Registration".
- Write access to the OpenSim source code is granted to staff plus postdocs, graduate students, or other researchers who have demonstrated expert knowledge in using the OpenSource code and a commitment to upholding its accuracy and robustness. See Contributing to the OpenSim Source Code for more information.
Registration:
- Sign up for an account on SimTK: https://simtk.org/account/register.php. Email your username to Jen Hicks at opensim@stanford.edu to get read access to the source.
- Sign up for an account on Confluence (Documentation/Wiki): http://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8080/signup.action. Email your username to Jen Hicks at opensim@stanford.edu to get editing permissions on the Confluence wiki.
- Review the page Contributing to the OpenSim Source Code. Once you have reviewed, email an acknowledgment to Jen Hicks at opensim@stanford.edu to get write access to the source.
- Sign up for the commit mailing list: https://simtk.org/mail/?group_id=91
