OpenSim is supported by the NIH through the Mobilize Center (P41 EB027060) and the Restore Center (P2C HD101913), and by the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance.

OpenSim has received previous support though the National Center for Simulation in Rehabilitation Research (NCSRR), which is a National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research funded by NIH research infrastructure grant P2C HD065690. OpenSim was also supported by Simbios, the NIH National Center for Physics-Based Simulation of Biological Structures at Stanford, grant U54 GM072970, and by DARPA through the Warrior Web Program.
